The competition is organized by the Department of Commercialization and Innovation within the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.
All competition activities are governed by a Competition Committee comprised of representatives from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic
Development and the Council on Postsecondary Education.
The Competition Committee reserves the right to interpret rules and approve or supersede decisions and recommendations by the competition
judges by virtue of a majority vote among Committee members. All Competition Committee decisions regarding team and entry qualifications
and rules interpretations are final. The Competition Committee may consult experts in determining the feasibility, commercial potential,
and high-tech nature of a business concept or business plan and/or its related product, service, and intellectual property.
Participating teams will be required to submit their written presentations in electronic format to the Cabinet by
4:00 pm ET on March 29, 2010. Hard copies are NOT required for the competition.
An elevator pitch competition, table-top exhibition and media night event will be held during the preceding evening on Friday, April 16, 2010,
in Lexington, Kentucky, at the Lexington Convention Center.
Judging of oral presentations will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010, in Lexington, Kentucky, at the Lexington Convention Center.
Teams must participate in all three events (written presentation, elevator pitch/table-top exhibition, and oral presentation) to qualify
for prizes and awards.
